Classic Beat-‘Em-Ups Come To PS5, PS4 In 2025 With The Fighting Force Collection


Limited Run Games and Square Enix has announced that Fighting Force Collection is launching in 2025 for PS5, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

The original Fighting Force was developed by Core Design, the creator of the Tomb Raider franchise, and launched in late 1997 for PC and PSOne, and arrived on Nintendo 64 in June 1999. The sequel, Fighting Force 2, was released in December 1999 for PSOne and Dreamcast.

Who doesn’t love a good brawler? In Fighting Force, you and up two three friends have a simple, four step strategy: break things, get weapons, use those weapons to pummel people, and repeat as needed. It’s straightforward streetside carnage with a 3D flair, coming home to you in 2025 care of Limited Run Games.

Fighting Force was originally pitched by Core as a continuation of the Streets of Rage series, but was ultimately rejected by SEGA, as they had plans to continue the series themselves. As it turns out, it would take until 2020 for Streets of Rage 4 to see the light of day.

Fighting Force Collection is due out in 2025.
