Portal Games Digital has just dropped the digital version of the popular board game Imperial Miners on Android. It’s a card game with a lot of mine-building. Portal Games Digital has also launched other similar games on Android already like Neuroshima Convoy card game, Imperial Settlers: Roll & Writ and Tides of Time.
Imperial Miners is designed by Tim Armstrong, who’s known for other great games like Arcana Rising and Orbis. The illustrations are by Hanna Kuik, whose work includes Batman: Everybody Lies and Dune: House Secrets.

In the game, you’re in charge of an underground excavation. You need to craft the most efficient mine by strategically playing cards and building a thriving subterranean empire. You start on the surface, but things get real as you dig deeper and collect shiny Crystals and full Carts that earn you Victory Points.
Imperial Miners has a clever system where each card you play activates its own effect and triggers any cards above it. You get six different factions which you can mix and match to make great combos.
Developing your mine isn’t just about card placement, though. You get 10 rounds to get things right, and each round brings a new Event. Some Events are easy, while others might wrench your plans.
As you dig, you also get to advance on Progress boards. Each time you play, three out of six randomly chosen Progress boards will offer different strategic focuses. These additional bonuses and new strategies, ensure that no two games are ever the same.
