Behaviour Interactive has announced that it has partnered with Atomic Monster and Blumhouse to bring its hit horror game, Dead by Daylight, to the big screen via a feature film adaption.
Blumhouse and Atomic Monster are set to adapt Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight into a full feature film, bringing the famed horror franchise to a whole new audience. While the game is well known for using licensed characters from almost every major horror franchise you can think of, it also has a roster of its own characters perfect for the big screen.
Dead by Daylight movie looking for a director and screenwriter
Video game movie and TV adaptions are the latest craze, and in the last year, announcements have been made for adaptions based on a plethora of franchises, from Fallout to Tetris, so it comes as no surprise that Behaviour Interactive wants to capitalise on its highly successful asymmetrical horror game. More than 50 million players have attempted to survive the murderous creatures stalking around Dead by Daylight which is played by around 2 million people per day. It’s still very early days for the project, which is currently looking for a director and screenwriter, so there aren’t any details about what we can expect from it — other than it’s happening, of course.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Jason Blum and James Wan, two giants of the horror film industry, to further expand the Dead by Daylight universe,” Behaviour Interactive’s executive vice president Stephen Mulrooney says. “At Behaviour, our motto is to create unique moments, together, forever. Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are the ideal partners to craft Dead by Daylight’s killer entrance onto the big screen.”
Dead by Daylight is available alongside some of the best games on Game Pass, so if you’ve got a subscription and fancy checking it out yourself, the base game can be played right now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
