Twisted Metal is getting a television series, a fact that many fans hope will lead to a new game, though for now we’re seeing more of the show first, with its first image revealed yesterday in a poster, and now its first teaser trailer.
The series is being produced by Peacock in collaboration with PlayStation Productions, who’ve multiple other projects on the go and are currently riding high after the success of HBO’s The Last Of Us.
This new teaser trailer doesn’t really show us much other than a brief introduction to Anthony Mackie’s star role of “John Doe,” and an even briefer introduction of the franchise favourite Sweet Tooth.
Will Arnett’s voicing of Sweet Tooth is on display only in an eerie laugh, while we get a better look at Samoa Joe who’ll be bringing the physicality of Sweet Tooth to the small screen.
We also get a bit of a look at what the world of this Twisted Metal series will look like, and for now it seems to be post-apocalyptic, but with a sense that the great cataclysmic event which brought the world down happened within recent memory.
You can check out the teaser for yourself, here.
