Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.01 promises Dogtown performance improvements

Following the launch of the Phantom Liberty expansion, which added another 13 Cyberpunk 2077 achievements last week, CD Projekt has revealed that Patch 2.01 is coming soon to Xbox. The update aims to improve the game’s performance in the new Dogtown district, as well as fix a number of bugs plaguing the general experience.

As revealed on the Cyberpunk 2077 website, Patch 2.01 will include the following changes and more:

  • The distorted effect caused by selecting a specific dialogue option when talking to Johnny at the end of Automatic Love will no longer persist on the screen.
  • V will no longer die in The Heist by falling through the elevator when riding to the 42nd floor with low FPS.
  • Fixed an issue where the UI could show controller inputs when playing with keyboard and mouse.
  • Made it possible to properly switch to arms cyberware by cycling through weapons.
  • Gig: Breaking News will be properly triggered after approaching the quest area.
  • Vehicle radio volume will be adjusted so it’s not too quiet when compared to other sounds in the game.
  • Addressed the issue of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing the maximum save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix the saves corrupted before the update. If you’re experiencing the issue, keep a working save (e.g. resave it as manual save) till 2.01 arrives.
  • Performance improvements for both PC and consoles, especially in the Dogtown area.

The Phantom Liberty expansion arrived last Tuesday, a few days after CD Projekt rolled out the massive free 2.0 update for all players on Xbox Series X|S. We loved the expansion in our Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty review, and for good reason, as between the premium DLC and free update, Cyberpunk 2077 has been injected with a ton of content to get stuck into.

Phantom Liberty focuses on political intrigue and espionage and takes place in the new Dogtown district of Night City. Alongside a whole new story, players who purchase the expansion can play around with new boss fights, a Relic skill tree and abilities, vehicle missions, collect over 100 new items, and climb the leveling ladder to 60. As for the 2.0 update, all players have the chance to experience all-new vehicle combat and car chases, improved AI combat, an upgraded police system, fresh cyberware, an improved capacity system, and much more.

Looking at our latest TrueAchievements poll, it looks like many of you planned on jumping into Phantom Liberty over the weekend.
