Grounded II: Making The Last Of Us Part II documentary is now out and available for anyone to watch on YouTube, or in the “Making Of” menu within The Last Of Us Part II Remastered.
It tops out at pretty much 2 hours on the dot, and over the course of that time you’ll be treated to some deep insights as to how the game was made, and the toll it took on the team at Naughty Dog.
For any Naughty Dog or The Last Of Us fan it’s well, well worth the watch. The footage begins right at the start of development, with Neil Druckmann going through the thing that was his starting point.
From there, it takes you up through just before the pandemic hits, pretty close to release.
Along the way you get a better look at how Naughty Dog operated, some of the original ideas for The Last Of Us Part II.
Like how the game was originally much more combat focused, and more inspired by Bloodborne in the sense that it would be set in an open-world that got bigger the more you explored.
Or how the original ending did indeed have Ellie killing Abby, when Druckmann first planned it out.
