F1 23 confirms return of Braking Point story mode, coming to Xbox in June

EA and Codemasters have announced that the next entry into the F1 racing series, F1 23, will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in June.

F1 23 launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC on June 16th, bringing with it a new chapter in the Braking Point series, which was popular in F1 21 but not included with last year’s release.

F1 23 release date set for June 16th

Braking Point will follow the careers of returning characters Aiden Jackson and Devon Butler, who are now working together at the fictitious Konnersport Racing team, which has just made it to Formula 1. Injecting some drama into the mix is Butler’s sister Callie Mayer, who has just become the first woman to win the F2 championship and is now looking to make her mark in F1. EA says there is a lot to look forward to with this new story that twists and turns depending on the choices you make.

As for new features and improvements, EA says that with F1 23, you can expect some “significant” handling improvements for both wheel and pad players and that new vehicle physics will allow for a more realistic feel and give cars better traction when braking, accelerating, and cornering. You’ll be able to test out how well cars handle on two new circuits in F1 23, the Las Vegas Street Circuit in Nevada, USA and the Losail International Circuit in Doha, Qatar.

Elsewhere, red flags will be making a return to the series after a nine-year absence, a new 35{d0f68332078ae50ae5cd49ede95b9d76bcf00fa473a5a7068cdab9d644705628} race distance will feature, and F1 23 will include a new colour encoding system, similar to what is used in film and TV to create a more authentic experience.

Also new with F1 23 is F1 World, which aims to “introduce players to the complex world of Formula 1 by tying together multiple game modes such as Time Trial, Grand Prix, and Multiplayer, offering an exciting new way to enjoy the game.”
