Arrowhead Game Studio has revealed that it is planning to release a Helldivers 2 patch that will implement ‘significant changes’ in an effort to address the game’s plummeting Steam user review ratings.
Helldivers launched earlier this year for PS5 and PC, notching up rare reviews and becoming a hugely popular time sink on both formats. In fact, it sold so well that it was named the fastest-selling PlayStation Studios game of all time. However, over time users began to get frustrated with the game and Arrowhead’s last few updates, with user reviews dipping as a result.

In particular, a lot of the negative comments are targeted towards the heavy nerfs that many of Helldivers 2’s weapons have received in an effort to balance the game, something that has extended to the stratagems, too.
Now, writing in a post on Steam, Arrowhead commented “We see the Steam reviews and we hear you loud and clear,” confirming its goal is “to ensure that each weapon and stratagem feels powerful, responsive, and fun to use, while also fitting into the broader gameplay ecosystem.”
