No Man’s Sky joins N7 Day celebrations with Mass Effect crossover

Players collecting the No Man’s Sky achievements have another chance to encounter Mass Effect’s legendary frigate, the SSV Normandy SR1. The No Man’s Sky and Mass Effect crossover event is now live in the Xbox open-world game for the next two weeks.

No Man’s Sky adds Mass Effects Normandy frigate for a limited time

To celebrate today’s N7 Day festivities — known as Mass Effect Day for fans — the famed SSV Normandy SR1 has returned to Hello Games’ survival title via a revamped Beachhead Expedition. The Normandy was first seen in No Man’s Sky’s Beachhead Expedition in 2021, with players in the years since being unable to add the awesome ship to their fleet.

“Mass Effect fans know that this legendary frigate only appears when it is most needed,” the announcement reads. “Today, and for the next two weeks, as a love-letter from one science fiction game to another, we are giving everyone another chance to encounter the Normandy in an overhauled version of the original mission and add it to their collection.”

Alongside Normandy’s arrival, No Man’s Sky is getting another lofty update, which adds cross-saving across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, and even PSVR and PCVR. The feature will roll out to a “small number of players” at first, before opening up for all players in “the coming weeks.”

If you’re yet to check out No Man’s Sky, it’s currently available in the Xbox Game Pass Standard, Ultimate, and PC libraries — you could also take a look at some of the best Game Pass games!
