Bandai Namco has unleashed a fresh pair of Tekken 8 gameplay trailers during EVO Japan over the weekend, this time introducing Asuka Kazama and Leroy Smith.
First up is Asuka, who is a relative of Jun Kazama and made her debut back in Tekken 5. While Asuka and Jun do share some moves and have a similar fighting style in past games, they are both quite different in Tekken 8, and Asuka looks to further differentiate herself from Jun.
Leroy on the other hand…oh boy! He launched as part of Tekken 7 Season 3, and has gone down in history as one of the most over-powered characters in the series’ history. He was basically the perfect character; he had a hell sweep, orbital, a broken parry, huge pressure tactics, great strings, brilliant frames, and even a once-use cane attack.
Bandai Namco eventually toned him down over the last few years but Leroy still remains one of the best characters in Tekken 7. His return in Tekken 8 isn’t surprising, and it looks like he’s got plenty of new attacks thanks to Heat. Oh, and his pet pooch Sugar is back too!
